DENVER, CO. (March 30, 2004) – Idea Integration�, the e-business consulting and systems integration solutions unit of MPS Group, Inc. (NYSE:MPS), today announced that it will collaborate with the University of Denver (DU) Geographic Technology Application Center (GTAC) to offer cost-effective geographic information systems (GIS) solutions to a pilot audience of select Idea clients and DU alumni.
Idea Integration solution architects will design, manage, and provide quality assurance for the projects while fully trained and qualified DU students will augment the project team. This initial collaboration will consist of four GIS projects that will be developed in the Microsoft .NET framework while utilizing GIS software developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). Driving the partnership for Idea Integration will be Vince A. Rosales, senior solutions director for the Idea Integration GIS Center of Excellence. Steven Hick, GIS director and senior research associate for the Department of Geography, will coordinate the pilot efforts for DU.
GIS applications provide government organizations and corporations the ability to analyze with the added perspective of spatial relations. For businesses, GIS capabilities extend beyond traditional information systems and can be used to analyze demographic and transportation information to maximize successful expansion and more cost-effective operations.
